About Frotté

It all started back in 1996 when three friends from Hedemora, Sweden started to write and spit rhymes in swedish. Later that year they formed Frotte and they began to record and also perform in public. Back then nobody cared about hip hop with rhymes in swedish. But within a few years things started to change. Swedish hip hop became huge (in Sweden) thanks to the success of Petter – who also was rhyming in swedish. The first album released, was rewarded at “The Swedish Hip-Hop Awards” in 2003. Now, more than ten years later – after two albums, a lot of gigs in Sweden, Finland and Germany, several singles and appearances on mixtapes and in US- produced snowboard-, skies- and commercial movies – the boys will hopefully be back in the studio pretty soon.
