Runouts are etched except for the plate-marks which are stamped. Aston-Clinton’s characteristic “broken A” may appear as A, Λ, or ∴ (showing only the serifs), and is stamped at approximately 9:00 relative to the matrix at 12:00; plate numbers are stamped at 3:00.
