American country / folk singer and songwriter, born on April 2nd, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
Worked as a folk singer in Washington D.C. in the late 1960’s. First recorded for Jubilee in 1969.
In February 2008 Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame. She has been married three times, first with songwriter Tom Slocum, then with producer Brian Ahern and in her third marriage with songwriter and producer Paul Kennerley.
