Tracks A3 and B1 were recorded live at the Carré Thorigny Theatre Paris on 30th October 1972; the remainder were recorded at Advision Studios, London, in November 1972.
Additional note:
there is much confusion about the actual sequence of the album but, after checking 2 different copies of the UK version, the actual data are as follows
1st UK pressing:
Matrix / Runout (Run-out side A, stamped): ILPS 9228 A – 1 U
Matrix / Runout (Run-out side B, stamped): ILPS 9228 B – 1 U
this is the UK pressing with the track “Sunrise” as A1 and correct cover credits (as described above).
2nd UK pressing:
Matrix / Runout (Run-out side A, stamped): ILPS 9228 A – 2 U
Matrix / Runout (Run-out side B, stamped): ILPS 9228 B – 2 U
this is the pressing with “Scoop” as A1 & “Awa Odori” as A2, with “Mountain Pass” placed at the end of the album as B3 (but the cover and titles are the same of the 1st pressing, no corrections); here’s the alternate sequence:
A1 Scoop
A2 Awa Odori
A3 What A Way To Live In Modern Times
A4 My Little Friend
B1 Mandala
B2 Memory Of Hiroshima
B3 Mountain Pass
Last but not least there are 2 different booklets in circulation, both very rare.
